Fairmont Kea Lani’s Tree of Hope Campaign Lighting Ceremony

Wailea, (Maui) Hawai’i – November 29, 2023 Fairmont Kea Lani is delighted to announce the 10th annual Tree of Hope Campaign benefitting Maui Food Bank, launching during their 32nd annual Tree Lighting Ceremony – taking place this Friday, December 1 from 5-7:00pm.

To celebrate the season, Fairmont Kea Lani will host their annual Tree Lighting event on Friday, December 1 from 5:00-7:00pm. The community is invited to experience the magic of 23,000 lights on one of the largest Christmas trees in the state! Emceed by the resort’s manager of Hawaiian Culture, Kamahiwa Kawa’a, this festive event includes live entertainment from the Nā Hōkū Hanohano award-winning group, The ʻIliahi Serenaders (featuring Maui natives Kamalei Kawaʻa, Kamaehu Kawaʻa and Jon Ako), hula performances by Merrie Monarch award-winning Hālau Kekuaokalāʻauʻalaʻiliahi, and holiday treats– cookies and hot chocolate for all!

The Tree Lighting event will also mark the official start of the resortʻs 10th Annual Tree of Hope Campaign. Throughout the holiday season (now through January 2, 2024), Fairmont Kea Lani guests, colleagues, and community members are invited to adorn the hotel’s Tree of Hope with donations to benefit the Maui Food Bank’s Aloha Backpack Buddies Program, which provides students with meals for the weekend. The funds raised will help provide over 140,000 meals to those in need. Donors will have their name featured on their own ornament which will be placed on the Fairmont Kea Lani Tree of Hope for the holidays.

The campaign kicked off this year with a donation of over $21,000 from Fairmont Kea Lani’s in-house group, the Consumer Attorneys of California. Year after year, this wonderful group provides a generous donation, inspiring all to keep the spirit of giving strong. Fairmont Kea Lani’s Tree of Hope campaign is part of the resort’s longstanding committment to caring for the local community, preserving Mauiʻs natural resources, and perpetuating Hawaiian culture.

Fairmont Kea Lani’s Tree Lighting event is complementary and open to all. The event will take place in the resortʻs Palm Court, just outside of Kō Restaruant, from 5:00-7:00pm. Complimentary hot cocoa and cookies will be available and additional food and beverage will be available for purchase. Free self parking is available at the hotel. Overflow parking available at Mulligans on the Blue.
